在汉语中“寐”表示“睡眠”的意思。寐龙之所以叫这个名字，是因为在古生物学家们发现它们化石的时候，它们仍然在呼呼大睡。这种超脱生死的睡眠意志力让本店的铲屎官们都为之佩服，也让广大群众发自内心地称它为“睡美人”。

Mei’s name comes from the Chinese word “寐”, which means “sleep”. The name was given because when paleontologists discovered its fossils, it was still in a sleeping position. This ability to sleep beyond life and death impressed our team and earned it the nickname “Sleeping Beauty” among the public.

寐龙入睡时双腿和前肢折叠、颈部向后弯转，或许这样的姿势让它们早白垩世辽西地区寒冷的气候中觉得很暖和。也许是这种睡姿太舒服，以至于它们的近亲后代——现代鸟类大多也用了这种睡姿。

When Mei falls asleep, it tucks in its legs and forelimbs and bends its neck backward. This posture may have helped it stay warm in the cold climate of Liaoning during the Early Cretaceous period. This sleeping position may have been so comfortable that many of its close descendants, modern birds, also sleep in this position.

From a phylogenetic standpoint, Mei belongs to the Dromaeosauridae family within the Theropoda suborder. Members of the Dromaeosauridae family have some “indissoluble” relationships with modern birds in terms of physiological structure and behavior. If you’re looking for a pet that can interact with you in the air, then we recommend considering a Microraptor or Anurognathus, dinosaurs that have previously been introduced by the store.

Although the Dromaeosauridae family is known for lethal serrated teeth, Mei’s are not serrated and are neatly arranged in its mouth. If there were a beauty contest for dinosaur teeth, Mei would likely be a regular winner; as the teeth of this dinosaur are not serrated, it is not well suited for eating meat-rich foods. We recommend feeding it a variety of insects and occasionally giving it some suckling mouses to “enhance its life”.
